Ft. Lauderdale, Florida---November 2005—Pursuit Boats proudly announces the introduction of their next remarkable addition to its uniquely rugged Denali series boats with the 3480 Drummond Island Sportfish.

The Drummond Island Sportfish is one of the largest boats in the Pursuit Denali series combining the best materials and construction techniques available in the industry today. The Drummond Island Sportfish features a hull with a 24 degree, deep-vee design, a sleek profile, an extremely well-conceived layout, and an extensive standard equipment list. The hull has been engineered to deliver superior ride performance through the constant lift design, that utilizes progressive convex sections which work to combine the smooth ride of a deep-vee with less draft and greater fuel-efficiency. The chines are designed to progressively impact waves and deflect spray down and out from the boat without “slapping.” This translates to getting out to the canyons and special fishing spots quickly yet comfortably, with the hard-core fishing amenities Pursuit is famous for.
The new model features an island bait prep station loaded with amenities such as an aerated 40-gallon live baitwell, a stainless sink and fiberglass countertop large enough to fillet the biggest catch. Store those fillets in the side-mounted, stainless steel-fronted refrigerator located below the counter or in one of the built-in ice boxes. Convenient fresh and saltwater hand-held sprayers make for easy cleaning in the built-in Corian ® cutting board / fish prep area. A built-in cooler with removable bait tray ensures your frozen bait remains just that. The port-side tackle storage cabinet contains six tackle boxes and three tackle drawers and also features a leader, spool and tackle drawer, unique to this model. The island also features a fold-down aft-facing seat, comfortable enough to watch your baits for an extended period.
Security is provided with lockable rod storage for all of your gear, both on deck and below decks, with port and starboard storage lockers on deck, and eight built-in overhead teak rod holders in the cabin. Up on deck, aluminum reinforcement plates have been installed in the aft gunwales, both port and starboard. A front-facing aft bench seat folds down for ease of movement about the transom.
Overhead protection is provided with a custom fiberglass hardtop finished with an anodized aluminum frame, welded rod holders, grab rails and spreader lights. When necessary, full canvas enclosures protect you from the elements. Further amenities include a hot and cold shower in the transom, four stainless rod holders in the gunwales, and two insulated, macerated in-floor fishboxes.
Take the helm comfortably in an electrically adjustable pedestal seat with armrests featuring teak ladderbacks. For hard runs, the leg cushions roll up and become leaning posts. A teak-trimmed, raised helm platform allows clear visibility, and the dual electrically actuated front vent in the welded aluminum windshield provides fresh air ventilation. In the rugged Denali styling, the custom Imron ® painted windshield, with massive curved corner posts and tinted, tempered safety glass is so sturdy that the need for a center post is eliminated. The large console area provides for installation of a complete range of electronics and navigational aides. The various functions of the helm are ergonomically positioned to maximize convenience and ease of use, whether standing or sitting, and the tilt stainless steering wheel adjusts to your needs.
The Drummond Island Sportfish offers a comfortable and rich teak-appointed cabin. An extra long vee-berth, complete with custom embroidered and fitted sheets, provides sleeping for two. Storage is provided with a cedar-lined hanging locker. The custom teak flooring completes the rich and inviting look of the cabin. Entertainment is provided with a standard audio/video system that features a receiver, 6 disk CD/DVD player and amplifier. The 15” flat-screen LCD television / DVD is easily viewed from the berth and the additional seating. You’ll be able to enjoy popcorn with your movie, with the custom-mounted stainless steel microwave located in a port side cabinet. Creature comforts are provided in the head compartment, which features a hot and cold freshwater shower, teak shower grate, stainless sink, Corian countertop and Vacuflush ® macerated head.
