The Technology Leader In 2006 Larson will continue to offer boaters the benefits of the latest marine technology available: Every Larson model under 24 feet in length utilizes a hull crafted with the exclusive VEC ® (Virtual Engineered Composite) technology, a closed-mold system that produces components with unmatched precision. All vinyl upholstery is treated with SRT, a tough, invisible coating that makes the material much more resistant to staining and tearing, and is also UV and mildew resistant. Most Larson models are equipped with Faria instruments featuring a new fog-free design that prevents the build-up of condensation under the gauge lens. Larson will again offer the Sirius satellite entertainment service incorporated into Clarion marine stereo units on most models in 2006, with 6 months of Sirius service included with those new boats. Larson Sport Cruiser models over 29 feet will be equipped with the SeaKey Telematics information and security system. The Advantages of VEC® Construction The fiberglass molding process called VEC (Virtual Engineered Composites) is used to manufacture all 2006 Larson sport boat models under 24 feet in length. The patented VEC technology offers efficiency and precision unobtainable with traditional fiberglass molding techniques and also significantly reduces the environmental impact of the fiberglass boat- building process, reducing styrene emissions by 90 percent during the lamination phase. The VEC process replaces the traditional open-molding process with a computer-monitored, closed-mold system that produces complex fiberglass parts of defined thickness and strength with less than a 1% variation in hull weight. A robotic router/driller precisely trims hull and deck parts to 1/1000th inch and locates holes for mounting hardware. The precision of VEC construction creates unitized parts that are structurally stronger, more quiet and less prone to vibration than a boat manufactured with traditional open-mold construction. Larson is so confident in the integrity of the VEC process it offers a lifetime limited warranty on its boats manufactured with the VEC process. Sirius Satellite Radio All Larson models equipped with a Sirius-ready Clarion Marine stereo system will come with a 6-month pre-paid subscription to the 120-stream, commercial-free music and news Sirius broadcasts. Chose from streams of pop, rock, country, jazz, classical and more music, all presented in fade-free, digital quality. News, sports and entertainment streams are also available. The signal is available up to 200 miles offshore. For more information, go to www.sirius.com. SeaKey Active since 2002, the satellite-based SeaKey Telematics allows Larson owners who pay an annual fee (which is waived for the first year of ownership), to reach a mechanic, call for tows, get information on weather and fuel dock locations, and even get help with hotel or car reservations. Offered on all Larson sport cruiser models over 29 feet in length, SeaKey enables family and friends to monitor a boat's position and speed on a home computer. If a boat is moved from its docking area without authorization, an alert goes into 24/7 call center and the tracking system is activated to find the boat. The program also remotely monitors a boat's systems, keeping track of bilge water and battery charge levels. If a serious problem develops on the water, the operator with can hit the red SOS button to summon help from the SeaKey call center, which will alert the appropriate authorities.
