BUCYRUS, Ohio (October 4, 2005) - Grab 'hold of something. The brand new Baja 35 Outlaw is about to shake up the waters and stir adrenal glands across the nation. This year marks Baja's 35th Anniversary, and what better way to celebrate 35 full-throttle years than with 35 feet of hot new Baja sizzle. The 35 Outlaw rumbles right into place among Baja Marine's award-winning models, extending Baja's high-performance legacy solidly into the future.
"Roll in the technology Baja learned from wind tunnel and hydro-testing the 30 Outlaw," said J.R. Jenney, Baja Marine's director of sales, "and combine it with the amenities of Baja's 40 Outlaw, and you get a boat packed with the power, style and comforts Baja customers crave."
A replacement for the 36 Outlaw, the 35 Outlaw was designed with input from Baja's customers and dealers. Baja enlarged the head in the 35 and eliminated the bulkhead, making this as much a performer at rest as it is at full speed. In addition, the hull and liner are produced using closed-mold technology, yielding a structure that is light, strong and cleanly finished. The 35 also comes with optional air-conditioning, so Baja captains and first mates can keep cool. Add on the specially designed fiberglass liner/stringer system that improves structural rigidity, and you have one solid and noticeably quieter boat.
"This is a great poker run boat," Jenney said. "It's perfect for our 29, 30 and 33 Outlaw buyers to move up to."
The 35 Outlaw's expansive upgraded interior boasts sleek brushed aluminum, based on the 40 Outlaw. But, as typical of Baja, it's not just looks that count. More aggressive construction materials like carbon fiber reduce weight and, when paired with a specially designed notched back end, offer that trademark Baja speed.
Shaking with excitement is completely understandable. A stretched version of the 30 Outlaw matched with the comforts of the 40, quite simply rocks. And with standard Mercury 496 Mags or optional 600's powering this new bad boy, the 35 Outlaw just might register on the Richter scale!
