BAVARIA YACHTS INTRODUCES NEW 39 CRUISER TO U.S. MARKET PDF Print E-mail
Annapolis, MD – June 16, 2005 - Bavaria Yachts continues to expand its
redesigned Cruiser series of German-engineered sailing machines with the addition of the new 39 Cruiser, which makes its American debut this year. At almost 40 feet overall, the 39 Cruiser is a replacement for the very popular 38 Cruiser. It features a much brighter and more spacious interior design, with six fixed hull ports, six opening coach house ports, two deck skylights and light mahogany woodwork throughout, giving a feeling of richness and openness. Like the other new Cruiser series sailboats, the 39 Cruiser was designed by Bavaria’s award-winning architects, J&J Design. Below-decks the 39 Cruiser is designed for comfort and liveability with plenty of room to move around, but retaining the secure feeling of a true offshore yacht. The forward stateroom has a large private head with shower, ample storage lockers and a large separate dressing area. There are two staterooms with double berths and hanging lockers aft. A second head with shower is just forward of the port after stateroom. The main salon has a large U-shaped dinette table with surrounding U-shaped settees, and a separate upholstered bench seat with storage under, providing plenty of seating space for entertaining guests. The fully equipped galley has a two-burner propane stove with oven, top-loading and front-loading refrigerators, a double stainless steel sink, hot and cold water and lots of countertop space. The navigator’s station, just to starboard of the companionway ladder, features a contoured ergonomic instrument panel, large chart table and ample storage for charts and instruments. Serious sailors - and their boat mechanics - will appreciate the easy accessibility of the Volvo-Penta diesel engine, making it easy to get to all the necessary fittings for regular maintenance and service. Like the 38, the new 39 Cruiser is designed for easy, comfortable sailing with a minimum of crew. Carrying almost 100 sq. ft. of additional sail area on an extra 1 ft. plus of mast height, the 39 will supply the sailing characteristics to delight the most performance-oriented sailor, while retaining the stability and sea kindly manner that made the 38 so popular. The spacious cockpit provides a pleasant combination of sailability and liveability. The steering pedestal has a large leather-covered wheel, with unobstructed sightlines forward for the helmsman. All halyards and sheets are led aft to the cockpit, and all winches are in easy reach from the cockpit. There is plenty of room to walk around the center teak table and teak-inlaid contoured seating. The walk-through transom provides easy access to the swim platform, which has a stainless steel boarding ladder and hot-and-cold shower. A nice detail feature is the raised coaming around the companionway to facilitate dodger installation and stowage. Bruce Mundle, president of Bavaria Yachts USA, said that the new 39 will be followed shortly with new 30, 33 and 37 Cruiser models, which will make their American debut later this year. Bavaria Yachtbau is one of the largest sailboat builders in Europe, with a new modern, high-capacity factory outside Wurzburg, Germany, which employ state-of-the art automated processes to ensure consistency and quality control while reducing manufacturing costs. As a result, Bavaria sailboats offer an unbeatable combination of value and quality.
