About Velocity Boats Velocity Boats located in Sanford, Florida produces a varitety of offshore and performance boats. Velocity Boats range in size from 22 ft. to 41 ft. Velocity Boats have set 10 world speed records. History of Velocity Boats Steve Stepp introduced the first 30-foot Velocity to the world in mid February of 1978 at the Miami International Boat Show. In 1986, Velocity Boats leased the Velocity name and the 22 and 30- foot molds to Regal Marine; and they were built as Regal Velocity models. In 1989, Stepp started Thoroughbred Powerboats. In 1993, Stepp regained control of the Velocity name. By 1996 Thoroughbred boats were phased out to concentrate on Velocity.
