My wife and I have a 31-foot cabin cruiser and have cruised to Desolation Sound, British Columbia, seven times. This has got to be one of the premier cruising areas of the world for adventure (tides, currents, passageways, good anchorages) and scenery. We have many pictures on our web site at: http://carlten.tripod.com/index.htmlCarl and Gloria Tenning "Q E Too"

Carl, Thanks for the information. This looks like a beautiful area for boating.
For right now, we will just have a general destinations board. As traffic grows, and we have more requests for certain boating destinations, we will look into creating more specific boards. For now, your thread can serve as the information for Desolation Sound, British Columbia.

BC is simply gorgeous for cruising. Been there, done that. My first mate is from Vancouver Island and her favorite saying is: "Canadian by birth / British Columbian by choice" For me, being a sun lover and prefer no rain with 90F plus, I found the Caribbean the most ideal for the kind of cruising I like to do (notwithstanding the first mate's forever ongoing nagging about wanting to go back to BC, LOL). We left Lake Ontario in the late eighties to go back to her BC with our newly acquired boat. Well, a good ten years later, we still have not made it to the West side of the canal, because the Captain found the Bahamas, Mexico and especially Guatemala so very awesome, and then we ran out of the cruising kitty and had to go back to work - back on Lake Ontario.
For hassle free and easy access tropical cruising from the US or Canada, there is nothing like THE BAHAMAS MON.
